In one of the previous entries on this blog, we presented our latest project - SelfCoffee the self-service catering point. A device that makes ordering hot and cold meals and drinks much easier, faster and more pleasant. Who was this device made for? And what are the benefits of such an investment? As many as 80% of us sometimes drink coffee "out"


This is the result of a SW Research study carried out on behalf of Shell Polska. This is a very high result. It means that for the vast majority of us, coffee is a pleasant addition to our daily activities, a springboard, an injection of energy. The pace of life, the amount of work and responsibilities has also increased, which translates into less time that could be spent on drinking a good cup of coffee in a restaurant.

And where do we drink the most? According to the Cafe Monitor 2020, ARC Rynek i Opinia research from August 2021, as many as 71% of out-of-home drinkers choose petrol stations, 39% coffee machines and a slightly smaller percentage (37%) drink in fast food outlets. The popularity of these places may be influenced by the fact that they are located in places where necessary daily activities are performed, but also by the very high quality of drinks served there.


Necessity is the mother of invention


It is the delivery of meals and drinks to customers who are in a hurry dealing with current affairs that is the overriding task of self-service catering outlets. Each of us has days when the flood of things to deal with is so big that due to lack of time we neglect or simply forget about such mundane activities as eating, which has an impact on our health. This is due to the fact that using the services of traditional restaurants is time-consuming and expensive, and ordering food with delivery is not an option.

No wonder that food courts with restaurants serving quick meals or meals by weight are being created in galleries and supermarkets. What's more, it is there that we will meet the largest number of customers who felt hungry or irresistible desire to drink a cup of delicious coffee while shopping. And let's not forget the vending machines that used to be on every corner.

Shopping and eating have always been related, and the creation of self-service catering points is only the next stage in the development of this trend, increasing the comfort and accelerating this process even more.

A customer who can eat a good meal out in the city, does not have an urge to go home, which translates into longer time spent on shopping and using services. Customer satisfaction and positive experiences grow, which at the same time increases the attachment to a given brand.
